Description:

The transition from the classroom to fieldwork presents unique challenges for students in the field of occupational therapy. This course explores the importance of supporting student wellness throughout this experiential learning process. Participants in this course will examine the challenges faced by students and fieldwork educators, including stressors related to preparedness, clinical demands, and role adaptation. Evidence-based strategies to implement will be discussed and reviewed through interactive discussions and breakout sessions. Emphasis will be placed on self-reflection, communication techniques, and peer support to promote resilience in both students and educators. Participants will also gain insight into available institutional and community resources to enhance wellness and mitigate burnout.
