The Recording of our September 14, 2021, ILOTA Live Virtual Event"Expanding Occupational Therapy's Role in Homeless and Community-Based Settings" is Now Available

Occupational therapy (OT) is an invaluable discipline to be integrated in community-based settings, and the field has a history of meeting the ever-changing needs in society since its inception. Yet, OT has not been equitably positioned to effectively support the needs and priorities of particular marginalized groups due to a wide array of structural determinants. This presentation will offer an opportunity for students, practitioners, researchers, educators, and advocates to explore the call for OT in emerging practice settings in Illinois, particularly settings engaging with people experiencing homelessness. CE credit is only available to those who participated in the live event and completed the follow-up assessment. You can view the recording here:

The Recording is Now Available for the Tuesday, September 21st ILOTA Live Virtual Event: "A Day in the Life of an OT Practitioner"

Join us at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 21st, for a panel discussion of relatively new OT practitioners who will speak candidly about their experiences working in a variety of different OT practice settings. Featuring OT practitioners in the fields of travel therapy, outpatient pediatrics, acute/inpatient, hand therapy, mental health, early intervention, and school-based therapy. We have held 10 online educational programs through the first six months of 2021, and we have now grouped the content from them in one location. The programs have been part of our ILOTA Live Virtual Events series that began in February. Nine of the events were recorded, and they are available to view at your convenience. These include all five of our OT Month events in April, the "Advancing OT Through Advocacy and the Legislative Process" program from February, the "Re-framing Pediatric Occupational Therapy – What does it really mean to be holistic?" event in May, and more!
