Description:

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the barriers faced by the pediatric population. Now more than ever, occupational therapy practitioners working with this population need to consider how to best meet the needs of not only the child, but their families and caregivers as well. By reframing how we approach holistic occupational therapy, occupational therapist can create a collaborative process that increases self-efficacy for the child and caregivers.

Objectives:
1) Identify the barriers that contribute to the social, emotional, and physical challenges children and youth experience when participating in valued occupations in their schools and communities.

2) Articulate the need for pediatric occupational therapy practitioners to address the emotional and mental health needs of children/youth and their families.

Registration Fees: Members $25 - Non-members $50
